Car-free travel guide Part 1 – Scenic bus routes

As well as scenic railway lines, the Peak District is home to some beautiful bus routes!

Here are just a few of our favourites for scenery and points of interest, and connectivity between stations on the Buxton, Glossop or Hope Valley lines. Some link the lines together so you can more easily explore new places.

218 Sheffield to Bakewell

Operator: TM Travel

Travels to/near stations: Sheffield Interchange (opp Sheffield station), Dore and Totley Station

Points of interest: Sheffield City Centre, Abbeydale Industrial Hamlet, Ecclesall Woods, Chatsworth and shopping, eating and walking in Bakewell

393 Hadfield to Glossop

Point of interest: Glossop town centre for shopping and eating, Longdendale Trail at Hadfield for walking and cycling

Breezer (open top service, weekends and school holidays only)

Operator: Hulley’s of Baslow

Points of interest: Walks from Baslow, Longshaw Estate, Hope Valley walks and villages

Norfolk Square and Market Hall, Glossop
