Summer Bumblebee Safari at Hadfield

Friends of Hadfield and Friends of Glossop Stations are jointly hosting a Bumblebee safari from Hadfield Station on Friday August 19th at 1.15pm. The event is ideal for families with children between 5 and 12. We will firstly take a gentle stroll around the gardens and planters at the station to observe wildlife then continue to nearby Bankswood Park to a natural flower meadow. Glossop Arts Project has recently installed a Bee Alive bench to enjoy this area. No bees will be handled nor caught en route. We will just observe and chat. Four teachers are involved in the planning of the event and they will also be on the safari so all current safeguarding rules will be in place. To get the most out of the walk we will keep numbers small. If you are interested in joining us please get in touch with us at friends-of-glossop-station.co.uk
There is no charge to join us.

The walk will last around an hour and a quarter. Connecting trains from Glossop at 13.05 outward and 14.44 return.

In the event of bad weather we will adjourn to nearby Hadfield Hall for an hour or so of child friendly conservation activities.
